I want to unsubscribe, but don't know how to - so please unsubscribe me. I definitely don't want to pay for another year!

I am getting disappointed at the infrequent postings. At first the pace was great. Is there a chance this entire story will be published as a book? If so I would rather unsubscribe and wait for the book. By the time a new posting comes out, I have forgotten where we were and have to reread the last post so I can remember what was going on.

As usual, I’m in my own parallel universe. One of my many interests includes neurology so this Boston Globe article and select interview topics reminded me of Andrew Huberman’s YouTube podcast titled - Ketamine: Risks and Benefits for Depression, CPTSD, and Neuroplasticity | Huberman Lab Podcast. You can find it on his YouTube Channel, if interested. [https://www.youtube.com/@hubermanlab]

Can't get it. It is requiring a subscription... granted. it's only $1/6 months, but I'm refusing principle (I know it will auto-renew after that time and I"ll forget to cancel...)

Loved the interview, and I enjoyed the first 2 chapters, but then life interrupted, (good things this time! Travel, family reunions and summer fun). Is there a way to go back and start over?

This is the entire book so far, starting from the beginning.

Reading the article was almost as good as reading the novel :-)

Thanks for clarifying the status of the serial as I was wondering if my subscription had been dropped. For me, the sporadic posts became chaotic rather than tempting, the story line too jarring. I thought I'd subscribed to a story that would be doled out in consistent portions 2-3x/week. Instead, it's been a series of "I'll get to it when I can," apparently. Rather frustrating.

Great Boston Globe interview - between Backstory Serial and Stacey Abrams' great novels, i have become a true believer in the power of romance novels (especially when knitting is included).

Thank you Mary, E, and Jen for not listening to the naysayers and leaning into art and love and friendships and beauty and all that is right with the world. What IF we all did the same? Plenty of time for punditry of politics elsewhere.

—IF by Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,

Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,

And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;

If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster

And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken

Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools...

Thank you , Lisa P. Singer.

I to had to re-evaluate what’s important to me . I had to step back from all the noise and focus on what I really miss . I had plans to travel abroad twice; the pandemic and passport delays. But somehow life steps in and takes a turn . For me this was something of a surprise. A road trip to move my relatives from Ohio to New York.

Yes it was work but never did I mind . We all had a blast ! I learned things about my childhood I never knew . The house parties on Saturday nights old boyfriends when they were young .

This was the moment that gave me pause and my life has been all the more better for it.

All I ever did for the last 20 some odd years was work .

I love books I enjoy reading Rudyard Kipling, Kahil Gibran and Greek mythology ,science technology.

The backstory is an escape for me while my mind takes in the characters sites and sounds of these installments . What was you favorite place to travel?

Appreciate you sharing your walk down memory lane. Sounds like it was a rewarding experience.

I have been fortunate to travel the world.

But better than the beaches in Maui, the Louvre in Paris, the Colosseum in Rome was sitting with an old college roommate in New York today, lifting her spirits, and making her laugh as she is going through a difficult time in her life now. Priceless.

Take Care. 💙

BTW, I did not have to enter my email since I deleted in the address bar "?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email" and hit Enter on the keyboard. After doing this, I was able to read the article.
