With this yarn, what size needles are you using? And how many stitches did you cast on?

March 4! Not quite on the Ides, but here’s hoping that Mark Meadows becomes Brutus and guts his big, fat, blubbery, orange belly.

As a Smith grad, Centennial Class of 1976, I took much delight from the above comments and repartee! On Aug. 8th, I served as a poll worker in Franklin County, OH for the first time. I’m an avid reader of Pepperspectives here on Substack, and I’m deeply grateful for all David Pepper has done to save democracy. It warms my heart to learn that his Mom is a Smithie and a lifelong knitter to boot!

I’ve emailed photos of my 30+ inch deep green scarf to Jen. I picked Light Arranmore yarn from Ireland (merino, silk, and cashmere) in a deep green.

Like madame Defarge I knit while watching trump world...and hoping for justice: a ranunculus for winter, a sparkly ranunculus for better times and an alpaca sweater for my grandson asa back to school tradition..

Sure! I tried to post but couldn’t. Can you give an active email address?

Ahhh what a delicious yarn you chose, with the shimmer of the silk and sensual softness of the cashmere. That's going to feel amazing around your neck. 😊

I finished my scarf, but cannot figure out how to post a pic. I love it! Thanks for sharing the pattern. Was a fun, easy knit.

K-Rom, would you like to send us a photo of your new scarf? We'd like to publish it!

Oh okay I'll reply to the email now. Thanks!

After I moved from Paris to California the urge to knit waned with the warmer weather too. But it's so much fun to get back to knitting, the result is beautiful and very rewarding. I've been trying to knit some every day. Finished the first skein and successfully grafted the beginning of the next skein in, so it's pretty seamless. It's 21 inches long, with two skeins to go, so expected to be 63 inches, or about five feet long, (I'm a math girl). Also, I sucked it up and wound the other two skeins into balls, no more tangling!

I’m doing some repairs on my favorite shirt. It is pail blue, and I’m sewing the fixes with light yellow cotton thread.

Ohhhhhh, knitting got me through many an interminable meeting at the university!

Wish we could share photos—I just knit a “dog” doll that looks just like my real pup, with a black patch over each eye and one spotted ear! She even has a little purse for her treats. Hoping for another zoom knitting meeting as I never got the link to the last one.

I'm happily knitting away here in SoCal - I haven't gotten as far as I'd hoped but there's been a lot going on. I'm glad to be working on something soothing during these historic and tumultuous weeks. Thanks to all the positive energy from this group!

I picked up knitting again after a long hiatus inspired by this group and The Italian Lessons. Since it is summer I chose an all-cotton sport weight yard (although the cashmere/silk sounds wonderful) in a teal color. My scarf is over 40” long today.

Thank you Mary, Jen and E.Jean.

Jen,

The email came back undeliverable. “Address not found.”

If I’m sitting, I’m knitting. Recent finishes include a shawl, a hat for my husband, and a stripey jumper for my 18-month-old grandson. Summer is only a vague thing in Scotland, with a warm (ish) day here and there, so it’s never too hot for knitting!

I only wish I had been into knitting and crochet when I was in college in Noho! It feels nostalgic every time I order online and see all of the pioneer valley yarn names ☺️
