Good dialogue, but IMO Matteo sounds a bit much like a native English speaker -- either that or Anastasia's Italian has undergone a quantum leap. I'm liking this a lot!
This is my first romance novel and on release days I pace impatiently around my Substack feed ready to pounce on each new installment. I am having so much fun! Thank you for sharing your friendship and the fruits of your creative joy with us! I feel so excited and fortunate to be here!
P.S. My husband, after seeing how much pleasure your story and this community bring to me, suggested we read your story out loud to each other.
There is no way that I am ready to send out an emergency extraction team to rescue Anastasia and Bella if I can't figure out how to add an image of me chuckling in my Substack Notes...
So, the cow guy is a actually a vineyard owner....I am guessing he's more than a hired hand based on his responses to questions. He is humble and humorous.
Liking this turn of events. Can't wait for the next installment. 😊
This is my first romance novel. And as I read the comments, I’m not surprised to learn I’m one of the few male commenters that follow your installments. I must say I look forward to reading them, the story and your writing have my attention. The installments are a wonderful break from the daily barrage of political stuff, and I suspect we all need that break these days. Keep up the good work! Thanks again.
Ray! Hello! Hello! You have something in common with Mary Trump! It's also MARY'S first romance novel! (She's never read one before---and now she is writing a brilliant one!)
Hmmm. Considering that Anastasia had “…never been an impulsive person, had never made a move without anticipating every outcome or thinking about the implications from every conceivable perspective…”, Calabresi seems to have brought out an alluring side of Anastasia’s personality. I like where this is going. Although, in the back of my mind (because I can’t help myself), I do hope that she is not becoming too complacent with her own security measures.
Oh, to be drinking wine with blue-eyed Matteo. But, now what will happen with Danilo? I'm so anxious to get the next installment! Thank you for such interesting characters! 🍷

Oh boy!!
Another engaging installment. The tough part is waiting for the next one. A romantic interest with a baby cow is intriguing. Who is Matteo?
Perfect timing in the writing, like a masterful music composition. Piano, forte, rests and staccatos.
Jan, how perfectly melodious of you to say so!
Thank you E. Jean, you made my day! It's just luscious reading. A sensuousness that has dragged us out of the dire!

Absolutely enchanting! I am feeling this sitting right up next to Anastasia. She actually asked him out! Bellisimo!
I
was
astounded
when
Anastasia
did
that,
Viktoria!
Such a fun and delightful read!!
It's so delightful for Mary, Jen and I to hear that, Patti!

The cow is one of my personal favorite characters, Kimberly!

How does this work, is there a two or three-way collaboration on writing “The Italian Lesson?”

Why is Anastasia so mean to all these perfectly nice guys? geez louise
Mary writes a very VERY different kind of heroine, doesn't she, Caroline?!
I think that Anastasia may be practicing discernment.
ANASTASIA is definitely practicing SOMETHING, Stacey!
😂
This is so good! 🩷
So good to hear you like it, Courtney!

Robin! Me too, woman! Me Too!
[Hermione Granger is back...] “It's GIUSEPPE, not Guiseppi...”
Nice lead in...😂
